Patents for development

Nutriset and the IRD, in line with their mandates, have chosen to use their industrial co-properties (patents) as a tool to aid development of developing countries.

The reasoning is pragmatic: Southern countries, which are the most affected by the scourge of malnutrition, have rarely the possibility to conduct research into these nutritional themes.

Nutriset and the IRD have therefore chosen to give access to the technological processes resulting from their own joint research to real and legitimate entities (public, private or NGOs), based in these countries. Entities that request so can either join the PlumpyField® network or get Usage Agreements via a simplified system.
