Recommendations for use
- One tin of Therapeutic CMV is enough to enrich about 250 litres of ReSoMal or of high energy milk.
- Preparation instructions can be found in the Therapeutic CMV technical data sheet, available upon request. Documents with more detailed preparation advice are also available upon request.
Packaging and conservation
- Primary packaging : Therapeutic CMV is packed in tins each containing 800 g of powder (gross weight : 960 g), and can be used up to 24 months after the date of manufacture.
- Secondary packaging : carton of 6 tins (gross weight : 6 kg ; net weight : 4.8 kg).
- Palletisation : Pallet with 88 cartons (for container transport, 548 kg) or 64 cartons (for air transport, 399 kg).
- Where possible, to be stored in a dry, cool area, at a temperature of less than 30°C.
NB : Nutriset also produces ReSoMal and F-100 and F-75 ready to dilute milk powder.
Therapeutic CMV is a mix of vitamins and minerals developed for the treatment of severe acute malnutrition. It can be used to prepare ReSoMal or to enrich high energy milk in order to obtain F-100 or F-75 therapeutic milk.
Main characteristics, target population and benefits obtained
The composition of therapeutic CMV complies with the latest recommendations for mineral and vitamin enrichment in the dietetic treatment of severe acute malnutrition (see references). It must only be used in the treatment of severe acute malnutrition, therefore under medical supervision.
Therapeutic CMV can be used to prepare ReSoMal (using standard WHO formula ORS + sugar), or to enrich High Energy Milk (so as to make F-100 or F-75 therapeutic milk).
