Nutriset's industrial know-how :
flexibility and performance
Industrial engineering
& PlumpyField®
The engineering work performed internally, with the support of machine and automatic system suppliers, ensures access to high-performance equipment for Nutriset’s own site in Malaunay, but also for its partners within the PlumpyField® network.
In 2010, optimisation led to the development of OptiNut, a production kit with a capacity limited to 100 tonnes per month, which is easy to transport, install and maintain.
In 2001, Nutriset acquired its own factory and its annual production capacity has increased steadily ever since, reaching 35,000 metric tonnes in 2009 and 60 000 metric tonnes in 2011.
All the key production steps have been optimised, from procurement of raw materials to packaging of finished products.
The objective is to improve productivity while maintaining the greatest possible flexibility in terms of production volumes in order to keep costs down.
Mastering food industry engineering
Nutriset is constantly seeking to improve its industrial processes: milling and mixing of raw materials, packaging methods, technological additives to maintain the nutritional value, flavour and appearance of the products, etc.
Adapting to fluctuations in demand
To address a highly variable demand for nutritional products, determined by food crises, considerable investments have been dedicated to developing the factory and creating a reactive industrial facility.
The production capacities (60,000 metric tonnes in 20011) are deliberately maintained above the quantities actually distributed (31 000 metric tonnes in 2010) and, in just a few days, daily output can increase from 0 to 200 tonnes. The result is that Nutriset is able to respond to urgent orders from its humanitarian partners.
If necessary, the commissioning of additional packaging lines can make it possible – in the space of just a few months – to increase the capacity to 70,000 tonnes of finished product per year, a capacity already achieved for mixing.
