The jury awards Nutriset
The jury praised the solidity of Nutriset as an SME positioned in a complex market. In addition, the industrial property policy of Nutriset features originalities related to its sector of activity. For 20 years the company has successfully bridged humanitarian issue with an innovative solution-based approach that mobilizes industrial property rights. By doing so, Nutriset promotes economic development both at a regional level where it operates and in the countries it targets.
Innovation in the company's DNA
Whether technical, organizational or societal, Nutriset nurtures a culture of original innovation, consistent with its mandate nutritional autonomy for all. Nutriset integrates multiple layers of constraints:
- product development and production: nutritional or therapeutic properties, packaging, different modes of administration, etc.,
- key users and end-users: their environment, cultures and practices,
- the entire ecosystem and value chain : production and logistics, competition, inclusive of Nutriset's policy of developing local production through investment and technology transfer, and an ability to adapt to highly heterogeneous production cycles.
Industrial property, a well-controlled dissemination tool
While some may question the coherence between a policy that protects products by the industrial property and the provision of solutions to resolve serious public health issues, Nutriset has found an original formula: through an extended distribution network, Plumpyfield®, Nutriset makes its products accessible to all in a controlled contractual framework. In addition to the development of a local producer franchise-like network (the PlumpyField® network currently has 12 producers in Africa, Asia and America), Nutriset also contributes significantly to fostering the industrial property culture of its partners.
Collaborative and multidisciplinary innovation: a sustainable development strategy
In addition to establishing production partnerships, as part of a significant investment in research and development, Nutriset collaborates with world-leading universities and research organizations on topics ranging from nutrition to therapeutics, but also sociological and anthropological studies. Such open strategy allows for a better understand of the socio-economic and cultural stakes of users, of the distribution of Nutriset products, the urgency of food crises and the needs related to the prevention of malnutrition. All that within the unshakeable principles of Nutriset's mandate: contributing to nutritional autonomy for all.
